5.2 Combined Heat Transfering Apparatus (CHT 01)

Description :

   A COMBINED HEAT CONVECTION,  LINEAR HEAT CONDUCTUION AND  RADIAL  HEAT CONDUCTION ON THE SAME  TOP BENCH WHICH CAN BE RUN INDEPENDENTLY AT THE SAME TIME.

  THE SUPPORTING BENCH IS  DESIGNED  AS  MOBILE  TROLLY WITH 4 BRAKABLE WHEELS. WATER CHILLING UNIT IS PROVIDED AS COOLING SYSTEM FOR HEAT CONDUCTION APPARATUS.

   HEAT CONVECTION IS EQUIPPED  WITH  ROUND  CATRIDGE HEATER WHICH CAN BE ROTATE FROM ZERO DEGREE AND 90 DEGREES TO THE DIRECTION OF AIR FLOW. THE AIR FLOW  CAN  BE ADJUSTED BY  DC MOTOR CONTROLLER.    AT THE AIR CHAMBER HOT WIRE ANEMOMETER IS USED FOR MEASUREMENT OF AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE AND APPROACHING AIR VELOCITY TO THE TESTED SPECIMEN, THE ROUND CATRIDGE HEATER.  HEAT FLUX CAN BE ADJUSTED AND MAINTAINED BY POWER CONTROLLER  KNOB .  INPUT  POWER  APPLIED  TO THE SPECIMEN CANBE MEASURED AS WELL AS SURFACE TEMPERATURE  AT THE SPECIMEN. BY THE WAY, COEFFICIENNT OF HEAT CONVECTION CAN BE DETERMINED.

   BOTH LINEAR AND RADIAL  HEAT CONDUCTION  ARE EQUIPPED WITH  ADJUSTABLE HEAT FLUX  CATRIDGE HEATERS,  THERMOCOULPLE  PROBES  AND  DIGITAL TEMPERATURE  INDICATORS. DIGITAL  WATT  METERS ARE USED FOR MEASURING OF INPUT  POWER  AS THE HEATING SOURCES. THERMOCOUPLES AND DIGITAL TEMPERATURE INDICATORS  ARE USED  TO  MESURING TEMPERATURE GRADIENT ALONG  BOTH  LINEAR  AND  RADIAL DISTANCE  FROM THE HEATING SOURCES.  CLOSED CIRCUIT CHILLING WATER  IS USED TO MAINTAIN  STEADY STATE  OF THE HEAT TRANSFERING PROCESS.  AT STEADY STATE ,  THE HEAT CONDUCTION COEFFICIENTS  CAN BE DETERMINED.

HEAT CONVECTION:

1. AIR CHAMBER : CLEAR PLASTIC , RECTANGULAR CROSS SECTIONAL AREA.

2.AIR BLOWER: ADJUSTABLE SPEED AIR BLOWER ≥ 20WATTS DRIVED MOTOR.

3.SPECIMEN: ROUND CATRIDGE HEATER 220VAC 50/50 Hz., 100 WATTS APPROX. HEAT FLUX CAN BE ADJUSTED.

4. TEMPERATURE MEASURING DEVICE:

AMBIRENT AIR TEMP:  HOT WIRE ANEMOMETER.  DIGITAL  DISPLAY,  READABLE TO 0.1 DEG.C.

HEAT SOURCE: THERMOCOULPLE WITH DIGITAL TEMPERATURE INDICATOR. ATTACK ANGLE OF AIR STREAM CAN BE ADJUSRED  BETWEEN 0 TO 90 DEGREES.

5. POWER METER: DIGITAL POWER METER FOR MEASURING OF VOLTAGE, CURRENT AND WATT.   TO BE READABLE TO 0.1 DECIMAL  DIGIT.

HEAT CONDUCTION:

1. HEAT SOURCES: CATRIDGE HEATERS ≥ 50 WATTS 220 VAC 50 Hz . HEAT FLUX CAN BE ADJUSTED.

2. TEMPERATURE MEASURING DEVICES: THERMOCOULPLES WITH DIGITAL TEMPERATURE INDICATORS  AND  6 POSITIONS -SELECTING SWITCHES.

3.COOLLING  SYSTEM: CLOSED CIRCUIT  CHILLING WATER UNIT WITH DC CIRCULATING PUMP  AND FLOW CONTROL VALVES.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND  SAFETY  PROTECTION:

ALL OF THE UNITS ARE EQUIPPED WITH EARTH LEAKAGE  CIRCUIT  BRAKER . GROUND WIRE MUST BE CONNECTED.  SURGE PROTECTION DEVICE IS PROVIDED.
